Lazy Weekender in Progress

Pondering what I would like to do with this space, I decided to begin by showing some of the details that go into my operation.  Eventually I will lead you on a photo tour of my atelier, posting photos of bags and belts in various stages of progress. The Small Lazy Weekender pictured above in her partially dressed state, takes me about 8-10 hours to make. She uses about 20 square feet of leather, three zippers, and half a yard of lining material. The bulk of the time is spent putting together all her parts, piping, assembling the zippered parts, etc. There is also a fair amount of invisible stuff going on between the layers.   I am posting this entry basically as a test for my new site, Stay tuned for the rest of the story...

Elegant, "lasts a lifetime" work.

Miz Hark, What incredible work you do--This is some of the finest leather work I have ever seen and I have intensely observed leather work of all kinds all my life. Since I also have had the pleasure of observing you doing a solo mime act on top of a folding chair in the Wilds of the West, I can say without a doubt that these bags are magical as well. What an amazing contribution you make to Love in the world!! I finally understand "Tink!" Laura Cox
